Medical Insurance
The hospital bill and the income gap are not the same problem.
A medical card for hospital bills: room and board, surgery, and eligible treatment, cashless at panel hospitals when the admission is approved.
What a medical card is for
Medical insurance is built to pay eligible hospital and surgical costs, either by a guarantee to a panel hospital or by reimbursement. It is the plan you want in the admissions office, not the plan you cash to replace six months of salary.
- Annual limit, lifetime limit if any, and room-and-board rate decide which ward the plan will actually support.
- Deductible and co-insurance lower the premium and raise what you pay on a claim. They should be amounts you can produce on a bad week.
- Panel hospitals and the guarantee-letter process matter more than a long logo list. Ask how admission works at 11 at night.
- Outpatient, maternity, and cancer drugs beyond the hospital stay are often limited or optional. Read those lines.
What it usually will not do
It does not pay you a cash lump sum because you were diagnosed. Pre-existing conditions, waiting periods, and excluded treatments are normal features, not small print to skip. If you already have a medical card, we start by reading that contract before suggesting another one.
